Before Sharpsburg
A 22 year old farmer in the York District, he enlisted as Private, Company H, 12th South Carolina Infantry about 1 September 1861.
On the Campaign
He was slightly wounded in the thigh in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was probably killed in action at Spotsylvania Court House, VA on 12 May 1864.
