Age 22, from the Union District, he enrolled as 2nd Lieutenant, Company F, 15th South Carolina Infantry about 1 September 1861.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He resigned his commission on 2 April 1863.

After the War

By 1870 and to at least 1880 he was farming near Draytonville, Union County with other Jefferies and Littlejohns nearby.
