From the Williamsburg District, he enlisted as Private, Company G, 15th South Carolina Infantry, about 1 September 1861.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was wounded again, at Chancellorsville, VA in May 1863.
