From the Lexington District, he enlisted as Private, Company I, 15th South Carolina Infantry, about 1 September 1861.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was wounded again, at Chancellorsville, VA on May 1863.

After the War

By 1870 and to at least 1880 he was a farmer in Broad River Township, Lexington County.
