Before Sharpsburg
A 27 year old farmer in the Spartanburg District, he enlisted as Private, Company C, 22nd South Carolina Infantry about 15 January 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Turner's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September 1862.
After the War
By 1870 and to at least 1910 he was a farmer at Beech Spring in Spartanburg County.
