John Osbourne Lane

He enlisted as Private, Company E, 23rd South Carolina Infantry about 1 November 1861.

He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

He was surrendered with his Company at Appomattox Court House, VA on 9 April 1865.

By 1870 and to at least 1910 he was a farmer on his own place in Bethea Township, Marion County.
