A farm laborer in Lebanon, he enlisted as Private, Company H, 7th Tennessee Infantry on about 15 May 1861.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He died of wounds on 9 February 1863 at Grimes' Station, VA.
