Before Sharpsburg
A teacher in Mt. Carmel, he enlisted as Private, Company H, 7th Tennessee Infantry on about 15 May 1861. He was appointed 2n Sergeant on 26 April 1862.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He died of wounds on 23 October 1862.
