A 20 year old student, he enlisted as Private, Company E, 7th Tennessee Infantry on about 15 May 1861.

On the Campaign

He was mortally wounded in action at Boteler's Ford near Shepherdstown, VA on 20 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He died of wounds on 30 September 1862, place not given.

His service from Lindsley1, who has him as Alexander T. Talor and says he was killed outright at Shepherdstown, and the index to his Compiled Service Records via the Historical Data Systems database, as S. Taylor.
