He enlisted as Private, Company I, 26th Alabama Infantry in August 1861.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was in a hospital in Richmond, VA and returned to duty on 27 February 1863. He transferred to Company G, 8th Alabama Battalion later in 1863 with no further military record.

After the War

By 1880 and to at least 1910 he was a farmer at Strickland in Lamar County, AL.
