His death at Sharpsburg is from a casualty list for Rodes' Brigade in the Montgomery Weekly Advertiser of 8 October 1862. He may be the Private James M Taylor Jr. whose Compiled Service Records 1 are among those of Company G online from fold3; those records end with his pay of June 1862.
