Before Sharpsburg

Known by Green, in 1860 he was a 17 year old farmer living with his parents and 4 siblings on their small place at Randolph in Bibb County, AL. He enlisted there on 7 April 1862 and mustered as a Private in Company F, 44th Alabama Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

His widow Sarah filed for his final pay of $84.03 in April 1863 and again in August 1864.

He married Sarah Ann Campbell (1843-1870) in January 1862 and they had a son Charlie Green Oldham, born the December after his father's death.
