A married 25 year old farmer at Walnut Grove, with Kiker family neighbors on all sides, he enlisted as Private, Company G, 48th Alabama Infantry on 10 May 1862 in Gadsden.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
