An unmarried 21 year old farmer on his brother Jackson's place at Fair Play, he enlisted as Private, Company I, 48th Alabama Infantry on 26 April 1862 in Abernathy.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He died in Richmond, VA on 3 March 1863.
