He was captured in action at Sharpsburg on 18 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was paroled at Keedysville, MD on 19 September 1862. He was captured again, at Gettysburg, PA in July 1863, and enlisted as Private, Company E, 1st Regiment, US Veteran Volunteer Infantry on 21 February 1864.
After the War
In 1880 he was a clerk in a mill in Mobile, AL.
