He enlisted at Camp McDonald, GA as Private, Company K, 22nd Georgia Infantry on 31 August 1861 and transferred to Company A by November 1861.

On the Campaign

He was slightly wounded in the back in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was in hospitals in Charlottesville and Lynchburg, VA in November 1862. He was killed at Gettysburg, PA on 2 July 1863.
