Before Sharpsburg
He enlisted as Private, Company K, 22nd Georgia Infantry on 31 August 1861. He was wounded by a gunshot to his leg (place not given) and admitted to a hospital in Richmond, VA on 1 June 1862. He was sent on to Lynchburg on 26 June and was absent from his Company into July.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in the neck in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was admitted to Chimborazo Hospital #5 in Richmond, VA on 30 September and returned to duty on 26 November. He is listed alternatively as having been killed at Gettysburg, PA on 2 July 1863 or as missing after an engagement at Manassas Gap, Va on 23 July 1863.
