Andrew Jackson Walker

He enlisted as Private, Company A, 17th South Carolina Infantry on 18 November 1861 in Columbia.

He was in action at Turner's Gap on South Mountain, MD on 14 September 1862 and at Sharpsburg on 17 September.

He was sick in a hospital in Richmond, VA in August 1864 but otherwise with his Company through the war. He was captured at Five Forks, VA on 1 April 1865 and held at Point Lookout, MD until released on 22 June 1865.

His service from his Compiled Service Records with his presence at "Boonsboro" and Sharpsburg from Colonel McMaster's list for the 17th South Carolina (Confederate States Army Casualty Lists and Narrative Reports, RG 109, NARA), both online from fold3. His gravesite is on Findagrave.
