He was in action at Turner's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was with his Company until captured at Petersburg, VA on 25 March 1865. He was a prisoner at Point Lookout, MD until released on 29 June 1865.
