He enlisted 7 June 1861 at Tangipahoa, LA in Company A, 7th Louisiana Infantry.
On the Campaign
He was wounded by a gunshot to his left arm (place not given) and captured near Frederick, MD on about 12 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was treated at US Army General Hospital #1 in Frederick, MD and had resection surgery. He was transferred to Aikens Landing, VA on 2 October 1862 and was declared exchanged on 10 November. He was disabled and detailed on 15 October as a clerk to the CS Army Quartermaster General's office in Richmond, VA to the end of the war.
