Before Sharpsburg

He enlisted as Private, Company K, 7th Louisiana Infantry at Camp Moore, LA on 7 June 1861.

On the Campaign

He was in action at Harpers Ferry on 15 September and at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was promoted to Corporal by December 1862 but reduced to Private in January 1863. He was again appointed Corporal in April 1863 and was on the Color Guard. He was captured on 7 November 1863 at Rappahannock Station, VA and was a prisoner at Point Lookout, MD until exchanged on 10 March 1864. He was mortally wounded or killed on 5 May 1864 in the Wilderness with no later military record.
