Before Sharpsburg
He enlisted as Private, Company K, 7th Louisiana Infantry at Camp Moore, LA on 7 June 1861.
On the Campaign
He was in action at Harpers Ferry on 14-15 September and at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was wounded by a gunshot to the calf of his left leg near Fredericksburg, VA on 4 May 1863 and his leg was eventually amputated at the thigh. He was in a hospital in Richmond, VA by 9 May and died there on 12 October 1863.
