He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was wounded again, at Fredericksburg, VA on 13 December 1862, promoted to Corporal, and captured at Gettysburg, PA on 3 July 1863. He was a prisoner at Point Lookout, MD, then possibly transferred to Elmira, NY. He died at Point Lookout on 19 February 1864.
