Before Antietam

A machinist in Stafford, CT, he enlisted as a Private in Company I, 16th Connecticut Infantry on 11 August 1862.

On the Campaign

He was in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862 and was promoted to Sergeant the same day.

The rest of the War

He mustered out with his Company at New Bern, NC on 24 June 1865.

After the War

In 1880 he was a machinist in Stafford, CT, later Superintendent of the S.B. Amadon foundry and machine shop, his brother Samuel's company. He held various local public offices in Stafford.
