He was an 18 year old mason in Farmington, CT when he enlisted as a Private in Company H, 16th Connecticut Infantry on 30 July 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He died of disease at the Knight US Army General Hospital in New Haven on 31 August 1863, not yet 20 years old.
