Before Antietam

A 24 year old machinist, he enlisted on 3 May 1861 in Buffalo, NY to serve two years, and mustered in on 20 May as a Private in Company I, 21st New York Infantry. He was promoted to Corporal on 14 April 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in the thigh in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He died on 2 November 1862 at the Second Division Hospital in Alexandria, VA.
