In 1860 he was a 24 year old farm worker on the Henry Storman farm near Griffin, Spalding County, GA. He enlisted as a Private in Company C, 13th Georgia Infantry on 8 July 1861 in Griffin and was appointed First Corporal, date not given.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was elected Lieutenant, date not given, but died of wounds and/or pneumonia in Staunton, VA on 22 November 1862.
