He enlisted as a Private in Company K, 13th Georgia Infantry on 1 March 1862 at La Grange, GA.

On the Campaign

He was captured near Boonsboro, MD on 15 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was held at Fort Delaware until sent to Aikens Landing, VA on 2 October 1862. 1862. He was in a hospital in Richmond with bronchitis by 8 October and declared exchanged on 10 November, but was listed as a deserter from the hospital on 9 February 1863. He was court-martialled on 3 June 1863, outcome not given. He was wounded and captured at Monocacy Junction, MD on 9 July 1864 and died from wounds in 1864.
