On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg, MD on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was on wounded furlough from 26 September to 18 November 1862. He was wounded again, in the leg at Gettysburg, PA and captured there. His leg was amputated but he died of pyemia (infection) in a US Army hospital in Gettysburg on 10 July 1863.
