He enlisted as a Private in Company B, 13th Georgia Infantry on 6 May 1862 in Savannah, GA.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg, MD on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was on wounded furlough from 8 October 1862 to 8 February 1863. He was surrendered and paroled at Appomattox Court House, VA on 9 April 1865.

After the War

By 1880 he was a farmer in Meriwether County, GA but in 1900 he was a carpenter there. In 1910 he was a grocer in Thigpen, Colquitt County, GA.
