He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg, MD on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was on wounded furlough to 19 October 1862. He was appointed Corporal in 1864, severely wounded at Spotsylvania, VA on 12 May 1864, and on furlough to at least 31 January 1865.

After the War

By 1880 he was a peddler in Girard, AL. In 1900 he was a farmer in Columbus, GA.
