Before Sharpsburg
In 1860 he was a 34 year old planter with two older brothers at Woodville in Wilkinson County, MS. He enlisted at Woodville on 21 April 1861 and mustered on 27 May 1861 as a Private in Company K of the 16th Mississippi Infantry in Corinth, MS.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in the leg in action at Sharpsburg, MD on 17 September 1862; date and place of death not given.
