Before Sharpsburg
In 1860 he was a 21 year old farmer on his widowed mother Mary's place at Paris in Lafayette County, MS. He enlisted and mustered as a Private in Company B, 19th Mississippi Infantry on 17 May 1861 at Abbevile in Lafayette County.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was appointed 4th Corporal on 13 November 1862. He was surrendered and paroled at Appomattox Court House, VA on 9 April 1865.
After the War
He probably died in Lafayette County, MS before 1880.
