He enlisted and mustered in Fayette County, MS on 15 April 1862 as a Private in Company D, 19th Mississippi Infantry.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in the hip in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was sick in a hospital from May into July 1863 and mortally wounded at Spotsylvania Court House, VA on 12 May 1864. He died the next day.
