From East Windsor. He enlisted on 12 September 1861 and mustered as a Private in Company B, 8th Connecticut Infantry on 27 September.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in the shoulder in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He transferred to the 41st Company, First Battalion, Veteran Reserve Corps on 8 August 1863 and was discharged on 26 September 1864.
