Before Antietam

An 38 year old bootmaker in Weymouth, MA, he enlisted there on 8 August 1862 and mustered as Private, Company H, 35th Massachusetts Infantry on 19 August.

On the Campaign

He was reported missing in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

In December 1862 he was detailed as a nurse, and in May 1863 to the Provost Guard. He was wounded at Jackson, MS on 16 July 1863, detailed as an ambulance driver from September 1863 to at least April 1865, and mustered out on 9 June 1865 in Alexandria, VA.
