In 1860 he was a 28 year old planter with 57 slaves at Phoenix in the Abbeville District, SC. He enlisted as Greenwood, SC on 24 March 1862 and mustered as a Private in Company F, 2nd South Carolina Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
