Before Sharpsburg

In 1860 he was a 30 year old planter with 3 slaves at Flat Rock in the Kershaw District, SC. He enlisted at Camden, SC on 24 April 1861 and mustered as a Private in Company G of the 2nd South Carolina Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was furloughed home on 25 December 1862 and rejoined his company in about April 1864 and was with them to at least October 1864, the last record in his military file.

After the War

By 1880 and to at least 1900 he was a farmer back in Flat Rock, SC.
