Before Sharpsburg

In 1860 he was a 28 year old farmer at Draytonsville in the Union District, SC. He was conscripted at Columbia, SC on 1 July 1862, joined the regiment in Virginia, and mustered as a Private in Company C of the 2nd South Carolina Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

His widow Lucinda filed for his final pay of $53.23 in April 1863 which was paid in October 1863.
