Before Sharpsburg

Son of planter Anderson William Adcock, in 1860 he was a 17 year old living with his parents, 7 siblings, and 8 slaves on the family plantation near Montgomery, AL. He enlisted at Yorktown, VA on 6 April 1862 and he mustered as a Private in Company A, 13th Alabama Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was with his company in Maryland and was in action with them on South Mountain on 14 September 1862 and at Sharpsburg on 17 September.

The rest of the War

He was killed in action at Gettysburg, PA on 3 July 1863.
