Before Sharpsburg
An unmarried 18 year old farmer from Weogufka, AL, he enlisted in Coosa County, AL on 26 March 1862 and mustered as a Private in Company H, 13th Alabama Infantry.
On the Campaign
He was with his company in action on South Mountain on 14 September and at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was at Gettysburg in July 1863 but captured in a rearguard action at Falling Waters, VA on 14 July 1863. He was briefly in the Old Capitol Prison in Washington, DC, then sent to Point Lookout, MD on 9 August. He took an oath of allegiance to the United States on 13 December 1863 and was "sent north" on 17 December with no later military record.
