Before Sharpsburg
An unmarried 18 year old farmer, he enlisted on 26 July 1862 in Eastville, AL and mustered as a Private in Company E of the 13th Alabama Infantry.
On the Campaign
He was with his company at Turner's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He died of pneumonia in the 2nd Alabama Hospital in Richmond, VA on 27 January 1863.
