Before Sharpsburg

Son of blacksmith Israel Moore, in 1860 he was an unmarried 21 year old blacksmith living with his parents and 6 siblings in Lamar/Rockdale in Randolph County, AL. He enlisted in Montgomery, AL on 26 July 1861 and mustered as a Private in Company K of the 13th Alabama Infantry. He was appointed 2nd Corporal on 3 May 1862.

On the Campaign

He was with his company at Turner's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and was mortally wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He died of wounds at Winchester, VA on 2 (or 3) October 1862.
