Before Sharpsburg

An unmarried 20 year old farmer from Wetumpka, AL, he enlisted in Montgomery, AL on 19 July 1861 and mustered as a Private in Company C of the 13th Alabama Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was with his company at Turner's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He continued in service with his company in all their engagements to the end of the war. He was surrendered and paroled at Appomattox Court House, VA on 9 April 1865.

After the War

He applied for a Confederate pension in August 1906 in Elmore County, AL.
