An unmarried 26 year old farmer at Traveler's Rest in Coosa County, AL, he enlisted in Coosa County on 2 July 1861 and mustered as a Private in Company H, 13th Alabama Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was with his company at Turner's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

His father Absalom filed a claim for his final pay of $150.23 in November 1862; it was probably paid in August 1864.
