Before Sharpsburg

A married 27 year old farmer at Wedowee in Randolph County, AL, he enlisted in Montgomery, AL on 26 July 1861 and mustered as a Private in Company K, 13th Alabama Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was with his company at Turner's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

After the War

By 1870 and to at least 1880 he was a farmer at Lamar/Rockdale in Randolph County, AL. In 1900 he was farming at Red Hill in Marshall County, AL but in 1910 he had finally retired and was living with his son Sam and family at Joppa in Cullman County, AL.
