Promoted to corporal on December 24, 1862. Transferred to Company A on June 12, 1863. Returned to ranks, no date. He re-enlisted as a veteran on December 21, 1863. He deserted on January 29, 1864, on expiration of furlough. His name is also borne as Hambilton.
