Before Sharpsburg

In 1860 he was a 31 year old farmer at Bowdon in Carroll County, GA. He enlisted in Calhoun, GA on 1 July 1862 and mustered as a Private in Company B of the Infantry Battalion, Cobb's Legion.

On the Campaign

He was captured in action at Crampton's Gap on 14 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was admitted to a hospital in Richmond, VA on 11 October and afterward home on furlough to at least November 1862. He was killed in battle at Chancellorsville, VA on 3 May 1863.
