On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Crampton's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was admitted to a hospital in Richmond, VA on 29 September and furloughed home for 20 days on 11 October 1862. He was captured at Cold Harbor, VA on 1 June 1864 and a prisoner at Point Lookout, MD to 27 June 1865 when he took an oath of allegiance to the United States and was released.
