A shoemaker's son, in 1860 he was a 21 year old living with his parents and 2 siblings at Unionville in Monroe County, GA. He enlisted as a Private in Company I, 14th Georgia Infantry, date not found.

On the Campaign

He was with his company in Maryland and was sent to a hospital in Frederick, MD by 12 September, left behind, and captured there.

The rest of the War

He was in US Army General Hospital #1 in Frederick, MD to 5 October then probably sent to Fort McHenry in Baltimore for exchange. He died in a hospital in Staunton, VA on 13 April 1863.
